Privacy Notice
Last updated: 21 August 2026
This notice explains how Loadit Direct ("we", "us") handles personal data when you contact us or visit this website. We keep data collection to a minimum: this site uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers.
Who we are
Loadit Direct is a trading name of Gordon McLennan, based in Ayrshire, Scotland, who is currently the data controller for the information described here. A limited company, Loadit Direct Ltd, is in the process of being incorporated in Scotland; this notice will be updated to name the company as controller once that is complete. You can contact us by email at info@loaditdirect.co.uk.
What we collect and why
- Enquiry emails. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use this only to respond to and manage your enquiry. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (handling your request) or steps prior to a contract.
- Server logs. Our web host records standard technical data (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to keep the site secure and running. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (security and reliability).
When our store launches, purchases will be made on the marketplace we sell through, not on this site, and that marketplace will handle the personal data involved in those orders under its own privacy policy.
Who processes it
Our website is hosted on infrastructure provided by Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany, within the EU). Email sent to addresses at this domain is routed by our domain registrar, Porkbun (Top Level Design LLC, United States), and delivered to a mailbox hosted by Google. We do not sell or share your personal data for marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up, then delete them. Server logs are retained only for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at the address above.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, you can contact us first, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
